Boy Scout Camp 2009

Before the kids went to Tennessee Cody and I had boyscout camp. It was so much fun, we started the day at 830 and it was a wonderfully day, sunny and warm. After the opening flag ceremony we went to our camp and made the pack's flag. The rest of the day they took turns moving the flag around the camp with us. The boys decided on Pirates Hook for our name and our cheer was "Pirates hooks are near, time to run in fear". After that we went off to fire bow and arrows.

Cody had a hard time figuring out how his hands were suppose to be, but once he got it he had fun. After that was the guns, Cody hit 3 bulls eyes, a 9 and a 8 on the target. They also learned all about the guns, safety rules, and what each piece is called. It was only the second time he has used a gun. Following that was learning how to fold a flag the right way
and what the different things on a flag mean.
Once we got the flag folding down we got to go eat lunch then off to skits. While in the skit tent it started lighting and thundering, then the rain came. We ended up being sent to the emergency tents where we sang songs and played games. We where there for about a hour when we got the ok to go back to camp and lucky for us we ended up on gym time. They did different things with some balls then walked a balance beam and rolled a pipe. After that was the last activity for the day, it was time to make boats and then race them. To end the day we went to the flag and brought the flags down. The boats and guns were Cody's favorite part, watching Cody have so much fun was my favorite part. I was so happy I could make it and be with him.

This weekend was the last weekend before the kids head off to Tennessee so we went and had a blast of a weekend. We started it off by heading to the water park. We went up to one in the heights we hadn't been to before and the kids loved it. It had a ton more things to do so they had a blast. After that we went home for a bit then got ready to head out to he monster truck show. Cody loved it, he had so much fun. He kept telling me how I should put my car in it, I could do the mud run. The batteries in my camera died so this is the only pic I got. Emily kept cheering for Big Foot, and she knew big foot was really driving the truck. After all why would it be called Big Foot. On Sunday we got up and went out to the Pictograph Cave. I have never been up there but I had heard cool things about it. They had a Crow Indian Tepee set up and we went to look inside and found it was still being lived in. It was so pretty, they had one of the caves shut down due to rocks falling but the other two we could go to. One the way up to the caves they have little photos of the Indian drawings, one one of them Cody and Emily started counting in Spanish the little marks. The first one is the one that gives the park its name, its the Pictograph Cave.
Inside on the walls are pictures the Indians drew on the walls hundreds of years ago. They were really hard to see but the ones in red are easier to see then the black drawings.
Then we followed the path along to get to the Ghost Cave. Cody thought this tree was the funniest thing ever, its really growing out the top of ghost cave. From what we were told they found three bodies in there and some people and reported seeing the images in photos they take up there. After that we took a break to looked out at the amazing scenery and take a few goof off photos.

Then it was time to head back down before the storm got in.

Emily's Dance Show

Emily had her dance show on Wed and she did so good I was so proud of her. Here is a video but its not the best. Our seats where in the front row so its close and the bass of the sound hits kind of hard. On the postman Cody decided it would be funny to try and put his hand in front of the video camera so the video kind of moves around while I'm trying to get him to stop. Other then that Cody was so well behaved he just sat there and watched the show, he did a amazing job of being a big boy
