Boy Scout Camp 2009

Before the kids went to Tennessee Cody and I had boyscout camp. It was so much fun, we started the day at 830 and it was a wonderfully day, sunny and warm. After the opening flag ceremony we went to our camp and made the pack's flag. The rest of the day they took turns moving the flag around the camp with us. The boys decided on Pirates Hook for our name and our cheer was "Pirates hooks are near, time to run in fear". After that we went off to fire bow and arrows.

Cody had a hard time figuring out how his hands were suppose to be, but once he got it he had fun. After that was the guns, Cody hit 3 bulls eyes, a 9 and a 8 on the target. They also learned all about the guns, safety rules, and what each piece is called. It was only the second time he has used a gun. Following that was learning how to fold a flag the right way
and what the different things on a flag mean.
Once we got the flag folding down we got to go eat lunch then off to skits. While in the skit tent it started lighting and thundering, then the rain came. We ended up being sent to the emergency tents where we sang songs and played games. We where there for about a hour when we got the ok to go back to camp and lucky for us we ended up on gym time. They did different things with some balls then walked a balance beam and rolled a pipe. After that was the last activity for the day, it was time to make boats and then race them. To end the day we went to the flag and brought the flags down. The boats and guns were Cody's favorite part, watching Cody have so much fun was my favorite part. I was so happy I could make it and be with him.

This weekend was the last weekend before the kids head off to Tennessee so we went and had a blast of a weekend. We started it off by heading to the water park. We went up to one in the heights we hadn't been to before and the kids loved it. It had a ton more things to do so they had a blast. After that we went home for a bit then got ready to head out to he monster truck show. Cody loved it, he had so much fun. He kept telling me how I should put my car in it, I could do the mud run. The batteries in my camera died so this is the only pic I got. Emily kept cheering for Big Foot, and she knew big foot was really driving the truck. After all why would it be called Big Foot. On Sunday we got up and went out to the Pictograph Cave. I have never been up there but I had heard cool things about it. They had a Crow Indian Tepee set up and we went to look inside and found it was still being lived in. It was so pretty, they had one of the caves shut down due to rocks falling but the other two we could go to. One the way up to the caves they have little photos of the Indian drawings, one one of them Cody and Emily started counting in Spanish the little marks. The first one is the one that gives the park its name, its the Pictograph Cave.
Inside on the walls are pictures the Indians drew on the walls hundreds of years ago. They were really hard to see but the ones in red are easier to see then the black drawings.
Then we followed the path along to get to the Ghost Cave. Cody thought this tree was the funniest thing ever, its really growing out the top of ghost cave. From what we were told they found three bodies in there and some people and reported seeing the images in photos they take up there. After that we took a break to looked out at the amazing scenery and take a few goof off photos.

Then it was time to head back down before the storm got in.

Emily's Dance Show

Emily had her dance show on Wed and she did so good I was so proud of her. Here is a video but its not the best. Our seats where in the front row so its close and the bass of the sound hits kind of hard. On the postman Cody decided it would be funny to try and put his hand in front of the video camera so the video kind of moves around while I'm trying to get him to stop. Other then that Cody was so well behaved he just sat there and watched the show, he did a amazing job of being a big boy

Camping Trip to Cooney Lake

This weekend my mom asked if we would like to join her for a weekend of boating, eating smores, enjoying the sun and family. So after work the kids and I went home, packed up and headed to the mountains. We got to the lake about 8 on Friday night. My mom, Emily and I worked on the tent while Cody took pics then helped Tom with whatever guy stuff they were doing. After we got the camp set up it was time to make smores
then off to bed the kids went. The next morning we had a very pretty sunrise and we were off to fish for a bit. Cody goes fishing with Mom and Tom so he knew how to handle the boat when he was driving. Emily didn't know what to think of the boat, but by the end of the weekend she was driving it and wanting to go faster. Cody just knew Emily wanted to see the worms, she thought the were gross and wanted nothing to do with them. Later when Sandy, Joe and Bayeligh were able to join us we got the raft out to go pull behind the boat. Mom and Cody were able to hop a wave, it was so right at the top of fun things to do for Cody. After that the kids took a little break when the storm moved in then it was off to shore fishing.
That night we had more smores and a very pretty sunset.
Then the next morning it was back to the boat and more fun. While out on the lake we went down a little turn off and happened to look to the side, and we found a cow just chilling.
It was the kids first time camping and they didn't want to leave they had so much fun. They were so worn out they went to sleep for a bit on the way home. However even asleep Emily was not letting go of what was left of the smores.
I went way over on pics so I put them on a music video. We had so much fun, I cant wait till we get to do it again.

Cody's Class Spring Program

Yesterday Cody had his spring program. Same as with Emily's I edited so it isn't the full 30 mins. They did a cute job, but the faces he was making had me and his teacher laughing. He really got into the dance song, well the part he got to swing the girl around anyways. I cant believe how big he is getting.

Emily's Class Spring Program

Today I had Emily's spring program. The school does the spring program during the normal music class time, so I will have Cody's on Tuesday. Here is Emily's class, I cut down some of the down time so its not to long to watch. Behind Emily is a little boy with blond hair, that would be her boyfriend who she thinks is so cute. At the end is two of Emily's best friends. They did a very cute job.

Random road trip to Great Falls

This weekend the kids and I decided to take off to Great Falls and see some family and friends up there. We took off Saturday afternoon and got there about five on Saturday night. We went by to say hi to Grandma and Grandpa Horne then went down to say hi to Connie's household. It was so weird seeing everyone again, feels like forever sense I have seen Connie, Pat and Megan and was the first time to meet Megan's husband and her baby. After we visited for a bit it was time to take the kids to the pool to enjoy some swimming. They ended up meeting a little boy there and started playing monkey in the middle, poor Emily had the hardest time getting the ball when she was in the middle. After that we went back to the room and after a bit we all were sound asleep in the most comfy beds I have ever been on.
The next day after laying in bed for a bit we went and ran around town for bit, I showed the kids were I grew up at, my old school and things like that. I took them down to the river to show them the falls,
they thought it was so cool till Cody noticed some ants crawling around. After that we went and meet a couple old friends and there daughter at Chills and had lunch with them. It was a blast to catch up on old times and to see how big Taylor has gotten. We finished lunch and we went to say bye to Grandma and Grandpa Horne then went down to say hi to Grandpa Ruff. On the way up we went to a veterans memory wall where my Grandpa and four uncles are on. It was really cool to see there names on it. After that it was late and time to head back home, next time we will have to leave earlier in the day so we can go walk along the river and go to some parks. It was a blast of a weekend and so nice to just get out of town. The kids had so much fun they slept for most the ride home.
