Slumber Party

This year we decided to have a sleep over for the birthday party and that was not the smartest idea I have had. The kids were very good, well as good at 12 girls and a boy can be. We almost had two boys, however one of the little boys ended up being allergic to cats so he had to go home. We started the party off with some pin the tail on the donkey, its so funny how those things start out great but by half way though the line the ones that have gone have lost interest and the ones that haven't start cheating.
After we did that we played some Simon says and did the pinata. We have done those every year we have had a party at home and never had the problems however last night was a different story. Thankfully every kid had a chance to pull a string, but the candy didn't fall out very well and it was in a bad spot in the living room. So all the kids tried to rush it and it just didn't work, instead we lined them up against the wall and put all the candy in the middle of the room. Then they got to go for it without the worry of someone getting as hurt. After that we played a few games of twister, that game is still a ton of fun all though very hard to do as you get older. Following twister was painting and the kids all painted a little window charm thing. That was where they really surprised me, 13 kids around a bunch of little paint containers and none of the paint was spilled, knocked over or any fighting over who got what. They where very good for me and I was so thankful, by that time it was 10 so it was time to start getting ready for bed. Let me tell you finding spots for 13 sleeping bags is like playing tetris with real life stuff. After alot of fixing and twenty minutes of kids going to the bathroom and brushing teeth they were laying down and watching the smurfs.

You knew they were tired when the only thing you heard was a laugh every once in awhile, as they all slowly drifted off to dreamland. I was worried of kids waking up in the middle of the night but again they surprised me, not a single one woke up and wanted to go home. At 530 in the morning they were all 13 where up and ready to go again. We did some sand projects, then made special birthday pancakes with sprinkles and whip cream. After that we all got dressed and watched some Thunder Cats while we waited for the mom and dads to pick up everyone. It was a blast of a party but I think next year we are going roller skating. Here is a collection of some of the photos we took.
